  • Safety gear: Drivers must wear helmets and seat belts.
  • No passengers: Passengers are not allowed because of safety and insurance requirements.

  • Safe to run: All vehicles must be safe to run through the pit.
  • Tow point required: Vehicles must have a mounting point for a clevis so they can be pulled out of the pit if needed.

Registration and Staging

  • Check-in time: Driver check-in, staging, and any available on-site registration run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM through the Drivers’ Entrance at Railway Avenue North and Mill Street.
  • Arrive early: Drivers should not arrive at 12:00 PM because it creates traffic issues and delays the event.
  • On-site registration: Drivers planning to register on-site should verify that their class is available on the website 24 hours before the festival.
  • Class limits: Classes may have maximum capacity so the event can fit within the 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM Mud Bog Main Event schedule.
  • Payment: Cash is requested for on-site registration, while online pre-registration requires a credit card.

Driver Passes and Site Access

  • Driver pass: Drivers and one pit crew member may receive a Driver’s Pass if they do not already have a Saturday, Weekend, or VIP pass.
  • Restricted access: Driver’s Pass holders may access only the driver staging areas and Mud Bog pit, and they must leave the festival grounds after their events.
  • Festival access: Drivers or pit crew who want food, festival services, or entertainment must buy a day pass at a public gate.

Pit Safety Rules

  • Competition runs only: Only listed competition classes are permitted, and free running or extra classes are not allowed.
  • If stuck: Drivers have an allotted time to get unstuck, and once the horn blows or they are waved off, they must shut the engine down and allow the pit crew to hook up and pull them out.
  • Immediate removal: Failing to shut off the engine or trying to back out after the horn blows is a major safety hazard and may result in immediate removal from the competition without refund.

Alcohol, Refunds, and Liability

  • No outside alcohol: Outside alcohol is not allowed anywhere in the event, including interior staging areas, and security may remove alcohol from vehicles at registration as required by LGCA regulations.
  • Refund policy: Once registered for a class, refunds are not granted for any reason, including vehicle breakdowns or breakdowns between runs.
  • Disqualification: Drivers who are disqualified do not receive refunds.
  • Event status: The Grandview Kinsmen Mud Bog is not part of an official circuit or professional association and is a private initiative by the Kinsmen of Grandview in partnership with Grandview Municipality and the Grandview and District Recreation Commission.

  • Prize payment: Prizes are paid by cheque at the end of each category.
  • Winner process: Winners will be announced and should meet at the timer desk.
  • Cheque review: Winners should inspect cheques for correct spelling and category information because replacement cheques will not be assigned.
